Is Linux ready for public administration?

Linux is open source and it’s free!! It would be a big advantage for the State Cash. Open Office 2.0 is more powerful and fast, and now it could be compared to the king Microsoft Office. In my opinion Linux, as operating system, falls behind usability compared to Microsoft Windows (and MACOSX). Linux is still not user-friendly, because of the bad handling of packet dependencies for example. But some linux distributions are going to the right direction to be user-friendly, like Ubuntu. Anyway I know that many offices in many countries already uses Linux, also in the public administration.

Is Linux ready for italian public administration?

Today Beppe Grillo has introduced the topic on his blog. First of all, I think that formation courses for employees would be essential. Then I think that it wouldn’t be a rapid process…
