Pimping my blog(s)
I have just finished working on my blog’s appearance. First of all I have added some buttons at the top of my sidebar:
- FeedBurner. Subscribe my feed to receive content updates in Google, My Yahoo!, Newsgator, Bloglines, and other news readers. I’m using just a few of the 11 ways to increase blog traffic using Feedburner.
- Technorati. Add my blog to your favourites.
- MyBlogLog. Join my community on MyBlogLog.
- del.icio.us. Add my blog to del.icio.us.
- Franciov WebStore. Have a look at my aStore (provided by Amazon).
Then I have to thank Napolux and Merlinox. Those italian (
) guys made a very good job!! Napolux is the author of MyAvatars for Wordpress and Merlinox developed MyBlogLog Blogger Plugin for Google Blogger. Using these plugins you can get the MyBlogLog avatars on your blog comments. Now I’m using both of them.
Here are Wordpress plugins I’m using now:
- MyAvatar. Up!
- FeedBurner Plugin: this plugin simply forwards all your feed traffic to FeedBurner.
- Google Sitemap Generator. This plugin generates a XML-Sitemap compliant sitemap of your WordPress blog.
- FeedList Plugin. A plugin for wordpress blogs that provides the ability to display linked lists imported from an RSS or ATOM feed.
- Peter’s Custom Anti-Spam Image Plugin. A nice anti-spam image plugin.
- Wordpress Recent Comments Plugin / Widget. This plugin will add a list of the most recent comments posted to your blog. And it’s quite customizable!
Finally I’m proud to announce that my personal blog in italian is now available also in english(-like). I used Google Language Tools to translate my blog. What about the result? I know… it is not english, but are you able to read and to understand?
Now, I hope to change the topic of my posts soon…

I have been enjoying your blogs from some time.
You have really very nice pictures, specially your spike. And gr8 to see your amazon store, but I already did my shopping there. Do add some marketing books there and I would definately get some from your store.
Nice Blogging.

@Divya: I’ve just added marketing books
I have in mind to add in my webstore a category with my favourite books, cds and dvds. Amazon store could be also used in personal webpages just to show favourite things. Two things in one! Moreover aStore could be easily embedded in your webpage also as an inline frame and as a frameset.

And thanks for your appreciations, Divya.
Spike is thanking you too!

Hi Franciov!
I’m using all of the tools you mention, including a couple of Amazon aStores.
Now having someone add you as their Technorati favourite is one thing, but getting a link from their ‘blog is the place to be!
You should see these links come through in your MyBlogLog web statistics.
If there’s any way I can help, let me know…

Hi Wayne! Yes, I found out aStores thanks to your blog!
Now, I think Technorati have some problems listing links to my blog(s)…
I’m using Google Analytics to track stats on my blog, and I’m sure that links from other blogs are not 3, as Technorati says…
Blogs will link to my posts if I’ll keep on (or start?) writing interesting posts. I’m not blogging for traffic.
Anyway, it’s good to be linked!

Some people have had problems with Technorati not qualifying all of their back-links. However, I’ve never had that problem.
In fact, yesterday, I got a back-link from a ‘blogger over on ZDNet, which drove a lot of traffic to my ‘blog and Technorati picked up the link within an hour, which isn’t bad going!
Trust me, you’ll get the back-links, and all of the goodness that comes with them…

As of today, FeedBurner’s ‘360 view’ site statistics goes live!
So I thought I’d give you a mention…

Thank you. I just had in mind to post about “track stats on blogs”.

I can see your site will become an invaluable resources for all the stuff I need to learn to enhance my blog. Thank you already for the piece on MyBlogLog.
Also, I notice you’ve made a visit to my Very Short Novels. I hope you found something there to interest you.
Naturally, our comments will now cross in the ether.

I also agree on that Technorati dont show all links. What I think here is that it shows links only from blogs which are tagged there. And many times link updates take around Day and sometimes instantly within minutes. Might be it depends on when Technorati is pingged.
How have you integrated your blog comments with Mybloglog profiles. Intresting and very cool.
And the book at the footer of blog : “Dont Make Me Think by Steve Krug” is must read for anyone into web based business. Do take an oppurtunity to read that book.

“Amazon.co.uk Review
Usability design is one of the most important though often least attractive tasks for a Web developer. In Don’t Make Me Think, author Steve Krug lightens up the subject with good humour and excellent to-the-point examples.”
I didn’t know this book. Yes, it looks an interesting one. I will move it into the sidebar.
